Istanbul Archaeological Museums are located on the right side of the entrance of Gülhane Park, Osman Hamdi Bey, in the district of Fatih in Istanbul, Sultanahmet district.
It is the oldest building of Turkey built as a museum. On June 13, 1891, the painter and the museum, Osman Hamdi Bey, led the service as an Imperial museum.
Located in the world's largest museum, the museum exhibits over a million works of art. In the collection of the museum, there are works belonging to many civilizations from Africa to the Balkans, from Anatolia and Mesopotamia to the Arabian Peninsula and to Afghanistan.

Archeology Museum: It was built by Osman Hamdi Bey in 1891. The museum, which underwent various renovations over time, was enlarged in 1975 with new additions.
Binanın, üst katında 16, alt katında 20 olmak üzere toplam 36 adet sergi salonu vardır. Müzenin alt katındaki salonlarda, Yunan, Roma ve Bizans uygarlıklarına ait, taş eserler ve mozaikler, üst katta ise, küçük boyutlu taş eserler, pişmiş toprak figürleri, çanak çömlek, maden ve cam eserler sergilenmektedir.
There are a total of 36 exhibition halls, 16 on the upper level and 20 on the lower level. On the lower floors of the museum are stone artifacts and mosaics of Greek, Roman and Byzantine civilizations and on the upper floor small stone works, terracotta figurines, pottery, mine and glass artifacts are exhibited.
Eski Şark Eserleri Müzesi: 1883 yılında Güzel Sanatlar Akademisi olarak yine Osman Hamdi Bey tarafından, ünlü Mimar Alexandre Vallaury'ye yaptırılmış ve uzun yıllar okul olarak kullanılmıştır.
Old Oriental Art Museum: In 1883, as the Academy of Fine Arts, Osman Hamdi Bey was built by famous architect Alexandre Vallaury and used for many years as a school.
Between 1917 and 1919, Halil Ethem Bey, the Director of the Museum of Archeology, turned the museum into a museum exhibiting works of Near Eastern Countries.
Chinese Pavilion Museum: It is the only example of the Ottoman architecture built under the influence of Seljuk in İstanbul. It was built by Fatih Sultan Mehmet in 1472 before the Topkapi Palace.
After the renovation in 1975, it was reorganized as a tile museum. In the museum, there are showcases of Selçuk wall tiles and ceramic samples, Iznik tiles and ceramics. Kütahya and Çanakkale ceramics are examples of the museum, Topkapi Palace is the complementary building.
Transportation: Transportation is fairly easy, as the museum is also in a central location. You can easily reach by tram, bus and metro. The tram passes right next to it.
